Built in 1950 by Inco Ltd. to house Creighton Mine workers, Lively was a planned community designed for modern living, with curved streets, schools, shops, and churches arranged with care. Incorporated in 1953 with nearly 1,800 residents, it grew into a thriving town known for its thoughtful layout and strong community spirit. After joining Walden in 1973 and later Greater Sudbury in 2001, Lively evolved from a company-built mining town into a vibrant, self-sustaining town.
